Help needed with rear Derailleur adjustment?
Help needed with rear Derailleur adjustment.It's a Shimano RD (105 or 106) and was just adjusted and working fine. The rear wheel and cassette had to be replaced with a different wheel and cassette. Now the high gear adjustment is off. When the chain is on the small chain ring and then shifted to high gear (smallest cog) the chain moves to far and falls of the smallest cog. Here's the problem, the high gear limit screw cannot be adjusted in any further. What can be done to limit the chain and keep it from over shifting and falling of the smallest gear.

Its a Shimano 105.
First, a couple of questions.
1) Do the number of cogs on the back match the shifter? If not, did the number in crease or decrease?
2) Do you have Shimano Shifters? If not, what do you have?
3) Was the wheel an exact replacement or was something changed? Is the cassette the same brand and model as before?
It sounds to me like the wheel went from a 5, 6, or 7 speed to an 8 or 9 speed but is still using the 5,6, or 7 speed cassette and the person that installed the cassette put a spacer between the lockring and the cassette rather than between the hub and cassette. Either way, of course, would require a derailleur readjustment.
If the stays had to be "spread" to accomodate the new wheel, there is your problem. If not, it sounds like the dropouts need realignment. If the number of gears on the cassette and the shifters don't match then thats a problem too. If you have anything other than Shimano shifters or a brand of "non-index" (friction) shifters then that is something else to look at.
As you can tell, there are a wide number of things that could be wrong here.
