Shimano Bike Pedals
My push bike is not working, when you pedal the rear wheel doesn't turn at all?
its a Mountain Bike with shimano gears
the gears are turning independently on the rear wheel when you pedal but the wheel does not turn at all.
any ideas?
The freewheel needs replaced. There are pawls on the inside that grab when you pedal forward and slip when coasting. Take the wheel off and take it to the local bike shop to have it replaced. It takes a special tool to remove. You can try spraying a degreaser on the cassette and spinning it to get it to work and then use oil to lube. It is always better to replace.
