Mountain Bike Socks
There is no mountain too high
I drank alcoholic for twenty years. During the last seven years of that time, I "raced my ass" by Addition of prescription drugs, mostly diet pills and Valium, but some street drugs. I had a Mount Everest of problems. The last year of my drinking, my husband had left me, I landed in prison twice drunk and disorderly charges, and I attempted suicide several times.
My last straw came on Memorial Day Weekend 1979th As I lay in my bedroom after I tried again to kill me, my twelve year old daughter, Kimmy, holding my wrists and said to me: "Mama, I'm just a child. I can not handle it more. Please help me!" They then fell sobbing into my arms. Her cry was lost to the tears of innocence.
I said: "I will stop drinking. I know I can. Please believe me, baby."
She said: "I can not, Mama. You've promised so many times before. I can not believe it. I think we have to learn to live with your drinking water. "My pajamas were with their Tears wet.
Three miracle occurred in the next few days. dressed by Kimmy, I yelled to a God I do not believe that unknown, absent God of anger and revenge, I thought "Oh God, even though you do not ask if I could, I would plead for them to show me a way to stop drinking. "
Then I got out of bed to get my bottle of vodka and a swig of vodka and in particular a cube or two of ice. I remembered to buy a two liters in the previous night. I began my search, no, not in the linen closet, not on the tea cart, not behind the towels under the sink in the bathroom not in every kitchen cupboard, not behind the mower in the garage, not in the refrigerator, not in one of the bushes, I needed trimming observed under my bed or guest bed, not in the bookshelf, not in the cellar behind the furnace, not in the basement or shower bedroom closet, not everywhere.
I stormed into the room my daughter, "Where did you hide the bottle?"
She was confused and still in the after-sobs: "Mom, you know, I have at home from a night with Cheri, and I came straight into the bedroom. I never throw away liquor. I know you need it bad. I always bring a drink no one away. "The first miracle, the alcohol was gone from the house.
Since I left my daughter room, I started on my physical condition to think. I suddenly realized that I do not have a hangover. I actually felt pretty good, not perfect, a little weak and shaky. But I was not bad, and I had no headaches. Second miracle.
I sat down and made a decision very indecisive when it's possible. Maybe I would try to quit drinking. But how? Deep down I knew I could not mine. A thought occurred to me. Some months before my mother with a friend who was in AA spoken had. The friend had given her a card. Mother had told me the card. I had to plan it put in my wallet it in the circular file to get at the first possible opportunity to free'm offended by my mother, I had a drinking problem. She told me her story, which had involved an end to AA and would go back again and then to alcohol by ordering cases of Scope from the pharmacy. She told me about a meeting in my area. Maybe I should just check it out. Third miracle.
The next Thursday I went to this meeting of the anonymous Alcoholics, and by the grace of God and the fellowship of AA I have not drunk since. Now it has over twenty-three years. If this is the fourth miracle? Or is the life God only an ongoing, continuous miracle in the face of the deep distress and pain, perhaps above all, when a great effort required.
Of all the garments contributes, I believe God Restoration of friendships and relationships is one of his favorites. As soon as I started in AA Charles came back. Nevertheless, we came very close to divorce in my sobriety. I had to let go if he does not make changes to. At this point, he told me I had to make changes. Charles told me he was sick and tired from my pull up the past every time we had a fight and then blame him for everything. Now Charles and I have been married for 37 years. God has truly blessed our marriage and our hearts and transforms us His heart of love for each other. We have a lot of fun together, movies, dinner, Traveling, cycling, swimming and romantic, a special blessing from God.
My daughter, who now lives in California, is my best friend, and we burn the phone lines talk to each other from the ears. I'm glad you had to say God does not leave California, despite the rumors, fears and recommendations to the contrary. My daughter is a very Godly woman. I have two wonderful grandchildren, and we visit as often as we can.
I have a successful business and start a new one with a friend. So life is full, and God is good. I have learned over the years, that this does not mean I will not have pain. I always got back the message. I would say: "Once I cleaned my act, I will seek the cause of God." It's really the other way around. "First you go to God and to heal it."
