Mountain Bike Carriers
im looking to purchase a pair of mountain bikes for myself and my hubby, whats the cheapest place to get?
would it be better to go to halfors or are there any cheaper palces coz i really dont want to spend alot of money maybe £50-60 each, i would also need a bicycle carrier and a childs bike seat to go on the back, i would really appreciate answers from people who know more than i do hehe
I'm afraid £60 is too low for a new bike. Any new bike normally sold at that price will be so badly made that it will be difficult to ride, will keep breaking down and will not last long.
(To put it in context, many commuter cyclists who need their machines to be reliable will spend more than that on a pair of puncture-resistant tyres).
Unless you can spend more, you need to look for second-hand bikes or for nornally higher-priced bikes going at a big discount.
Are you sure you want a mountain bike? Are you really going to do a lot of rough-surface riding? If not then a hybrid or a roadster will be a better choice. Mountain bikes are designed for rough surfaces and so they are not really efficient when used on a hard smooth surface.
