Huffy Good Vibrations
Why is my bike making this weird noise?
I have an old bike, it's a Huffy: Good Vibrations =] and we thought maybe it's the fender rubbing the wheel or something... but when I stop pedaling and just coast, it makes a screeching/rubbing noise, yeah I'm not sure. But it stops if I move the pedals like I'm hitting the brakes.
Turn the bike upside down. Grab the tire where it is the closest to the pedal crank and try to move it sideways back and forth. If the axle moves you need to tighten the axle nuts. If the axle doesn't move the bearings need adjusted. If the wheel doesn't move at all it is probably in the coaster hub.
