Dirt Bike Pillow
Escape! Travel to New Hampshire
No matter how much you love to live in the city say, I am sure you are often tempted to hit the road and disappear into the wilderness. I know I am. I sometimes question my inability to sleep, without a subway rumbling by.
I recently followed one of my escapist temptations and steered my VW Beetle to New Hampshire Lakes Region. I tried to travel light, but after a little research, I found my car fairly stock:
1st Fishing rods (it was a bass out there with my name on it).
2nd A tent (I actually booked href = "http://www.steelehillresorts.com/"> New Hampshire Hotel Room, but the feeling as if the journey deserves a tent)
3rd Costco-sized bag trail mix (About 10 lbs.)
4th Extra Fluffy down pillows
5th A laptop with EVDO broadband card (we all gotta stay connected somehow)
6th A hammock, I took on the way outside
7th My roommate Alan (about £ 245)
8th A suitcase filled with clothes and a cardigan.
9th Hiking Boots
8th Alan's stuff (Usually consisted of thirty two racks of beer)
We filled the silence of the five-hour drive with Bruce Springsteen Greatest Hits. You know you've on the Granite State Highway crosses when they lined with a surplus of gun shops and liquor stores offer made. More striking were the thousand or so that cyclists passed us on the route cut 93rd
She growled by on packets of silver and black Harleys, I imagined some Grass-and dirt-battlefield clash with a gang rival. If it is found, it was Laconia Motorcycle Week , an annual June Rally for the display of bikes and girls and the consuming plenty of beer. Alan wanted to go, but I decided against it.
So as the sun dipped behind the horizon, we arrived pretty Steele Hill Resorts, 500 hectares of pristine forests with Meadows and hardwood region and perched high on the New Hampshire's lakes. We were hungry from traveling, and have provided a fantastic meal at Steele Hill's Restaurant, the breathtaking views of Lake Winnipesaukee and Lake Winnisquaum offered.
I lay awake at night, amazed at how quiet the world outside the city. A symphony of crickets had the subways and replaced drunk revelers. I slept well traveled and willing to catch my bass in the morning.
