Bike Shorts Women
Motorcycles for short women?
Hey everyone! I'm a short woman (only 4'11), but have had an affection for riding for quite some time...I just haven't ever had a bike of my own (riding b**** is fine, lol, but I would like a bike of my own). Can anyone suggest a good bike for a beginner (since I've never ridden alone) that would work with my height? Nothing heavy, though...not only am I short, I'm small in general...not sure I could handle a heavy bike. (And yes, I'm taking classes to learn to ride properly)

It is probably best you stay with a lighter bike (<700 cc) and preferably under 500cc until you learn the feel of a bike on the street. Some of the suggestions above are very good. Ultimately, you'll want to sit on it. I'd look for a used bike though since it is likely you might drop your first one. Scuffing a more expensive bike is nerve racking. Older Honda Nighthawks are around and usually pretty reliable for a used bike. Craigslist and your local newspaper are good place to see ads.
Always wear a helmet, even if your state doesn't require it. Happy riding!
