Bike Flat Bar
Convert to hybrid Road Bike. XTs w / 105s .. is it worth it?
I have a road bike with 105 components. I use it as a commuter, so I convert the handlebars want. I'm thinking I can get a flat bar and XT shifter / brake lever (mountain-components) and let the 105 gearbox, derailuers, etc. Anyone who has experience so? Did it work? Is it even worth it?
The purchase of parts and their installation is almost as much as a new bike costs of a "second stage" Companies such as Fuji or Motobecane or Windsor or KHS. Shimano Road and MTB stuff is not happy together (although it works-type), but they do flat steel street stuff this could be another option, but do not cost effective for my opinion about ..
